Sometimes it is necessary to create a basic object, which later becomes a skeleton for the rest geometry. It could be datum planes, created at some distance from any WCS plane, which are suitable for use as limits for both extrude and revolve features.
You can assign them names to simplify the search in the Part Navigator. These names are also could be shown in the Graphic Window.
To assign a name to a feature do the following:
- In the Part Navigator click RMB to the Datum Plane and select Properties.
- Under the General tab insert a valid name in the Name field and click Ok.
- Go to the Customer defaults -> Gateway -> Visualization -> Names and Borders and set Show Object Names to the desired value.
